Increasingly, emphasis is laid on energy and environmental issues in chemical and mechanical pulp preparation. New solutions can be found for reducing energy consumption in production processes and for reusing the energy produced in the process. Minimizing the environmental load caused by pulp and stock preparation is already taken into consideration at the engineering phase of the process.  Equipment within the pulp and paper industry is to an increasing extent refurbished and then delivered to another country, where it can operate economically for years. CTS has implemented several projects in which a new production facility is based on second-hand equipment.
