CTS Engtec part of extensive Russian refurbishment project
Russia's first LWC Paper Mill for Kama Pulp and Paper Mill
CTS Engtec Oy and the Russian ZAO Invest LesProm Group are cooperating on the refurbishment of the PM 7 paper machine at the Kama Pulp and Paper Mill.
The project involves refurbishing PM7 to produce high-quality LWC paper. Overall production will be approximately 85,000 tons per year.
CTS Engtec is responsible for a comprehensive BOP (Balance of Plant), which comprises design work for the plant area at Kama Pulp and Paper Mill and linking the new plant to the existing plant infra. The mill is located in Krasnokamsk.
BOP includes design work management, process design, layout and piping design, and electrical and automation design.
The contract also includes work guidance and monitoring of the Russian design agency. CTS Engtec will be working in close cooperation with the project's equipment suppliers.
Vaahto Oy from Finland is the PM 7 equipment supplier. Vaahto will convert Kama's newsprint machine into a modern LWC (light weight coated) machine in this extensive refurbishment project.
Kama Pulp and Paper Mill is located in Krasnokamsk in the Perm region close to the Ural Mountains.
Kama pulp and paper mill is an integrated member of the Invest LesProm Group (ILP), which was established in 2006 to become a key player in the forestry industry in Russia. The business units in ILP cover the entire chain from forest to finished packaging, including activities within forestry, mills, paper production, fibreboard and paper packaging. The Bank of Moscow is the largest owner of InvestLesProm's enterprises.
