CTS Engtec lures data center investors from Monaco to Finland
Datacloud Europe 2016 is held this week in Monaco. Finland is presenting its’ offering more broadly than ever. Invest In Finland and regional development agencies are putting extra effort to convince new comers to follow the suit of Google, Yandex, Hetzner, NxtVn and TeliaSonera and establish data center to Finland.
CTS Engtec has worked in close co-operation with IIF and RDAs on conference preparations. CTS has made DC site and campus master plans for several regions and potential DC sites. Master plans will help investors decisions and speed-up the project start. Now these new master plans, prepares by CTS, are presented to international investors.
Reijo Parkkinen, Data Center Business Director at CTS, is also participating Datacloud 2016 in Monaco. Mr. Parkkinen is convinced that Finland’s site offering is high in quality and will attract investors. “CTS has ranked close to one hundred data center sites and campuses in Finland and elsewhere. Based on that I can say that sites presented by Finns are competitive, or better, to anything that others are presenting.” says mr. Parkkinen. “We have had good offering also previously but thanks to C-Lion1, a high capacity low latency subsea cable, Finland has jumped up in ranking. One could say that C-Lion1 has moved Finland to suburbs of Frankfurt or London, which ever suits you better.“, mr. Parkkinen continues.
Mr. Parkkinen is looking forward to meet potential investors and other stakeholders at the venue. Parkkinen knows what it takes to build a major scale data center to Finland and he wants to share this experience with future investors. “I was a project director of the first stage of Finland’s, and perhaps as of today, Nordic’s biggest data center. We went straight to two digits in MWs, which was unparalleled at that time. Majority of the work was completed by local companies in close cooperation with and guidance by world class international experts.” Parkkinen underlines. Parkkinen can convince anybody that Finland is a right location for data center investment, no matter what sizes of data center or campus is planned. “At CTS we know very well what it means for foreign investors to make commitment to new destination. We’ve been doing work in Finland with foreign companies and abroad with Finnish companies. Investment to new country is never a walk in the park but with right people and partners is can be a very good experience, And always it is opportunity to learn and grow.” Mr Parkkinen emphasizes.
“I have simple suggestion for the investors coming to Finland: call CTS, we will find for you the best data center location in Finland.” Parkkinen completes.
