Strengthening of EPCM-delivery
Raimo Vikstedt, Director of CTS Engtec’s metal and mining business area, says that Pekka Veisto´s employment will enhance mining sector comprehensive EPCM-delivery services by strengthening infrastructure and industrial construction.
- We are able to offer wider overall design deliveries and with the same support design activities of the whole company. In addition, client’s overall efficiency is improved, says Raimo Vikstedt.
Pekka Veisto thinks that mining area perspectives are quite promising.
- However, on the other hand, the area’s negative publicity in terms of environmental aspects and, for instance, uranium issues can affect the permitting process by slowing it down, says Pekka Veisto.
- Partly this is stipulated with the growing skills and knowledge of the authorities, since before Talvivaara almost one generation of time has passed from the last large mine construction.
- National knowledge has grown considerably, and one of the future crucial matters is how well interests and opinions of local citizens will be paid attention to and considered at the permitting stage, notes Pekka.
CTS Engtec has recently published new environmental technology services portfolio for metal and mining sector.
Pekka Veisto is working in CTS’ office in Oulu.
